Poor Sony, Can't Even Get an Orange Box Out on Time!

"Valve Software's Orange Box launches on PC via Steam this week, with the Xbox 360 - and PC retail - version out October 19. But meanwhile, PS3 gamers are being left to twiddle thumbs while waiting for a confirmed release date.

Retailers are suggesting November 16 or November 23, but according to EA a precise release date has yet to be nailed down. The PS3 version is being handled by EA rather than Valve Software; the publisher is still listing the release date as TBA in its schedule. It's probably waiting to hear from Valve...

Previously, it was confirmed that the PS3 version of Orange Box would be out a few weeks later than the PC and Xbox 360 outings, but a lack of exact date is officially worrying. Is it going to slip into 2008?

In case you need reminding, Orange Box includes Half-Life 2, HL2: Episode One and Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2. And it's going to be awesome. Look for our review later this week."Courtesy of CVG...

Seems that Sony is having a really hard time with their third parties. I'm sure some time in the distant future all this will get sorted out. But in the mean time Sony is really taking a bath on their over complicated hardware. Seems that Sony Worldwide Studios should be sending out teams to help these third parties; or Sony might find themselves out of the third party race all together. After all, why make a game that will be out so much later than it is on all other consoles that no one will buy them. After all, where is the profit in that?

I don't get it either. It is very dissapointing to see Orange Box release so late for PS3. On the other hand, I am really enjoying Team Fortress 2 on my PC right now. In fact, I set up a server with co-location service from Nationwide Bandwidth and it is most excellent ever.
