Resident Evil Degeneration Trailer!
That looks good. I think the current series with Mila should watch it's back.

Some People don't like video games. Like Roger Ebert...
"The movie, directed by Xavier Gens, was inspired by a best-selling video game and serves as an excellent illustration of my conviction that video games will never become an art form -- never, at least, until they morph into something else or more."Roger Ebert...
This is from a recent movie review of Hitman: the movie. So how does this have anything to do with the video game? Except that they bear the same name sake. The main thrust of the game is to stealthily kill people. This wouldn't make the greatest movie, I would imagine. But is it the game's fault that the director of the movie couldn't come up with a more creative solution than what he did. Or even better, is it the game's fault that they made a second class movie about it? No...
Let's see, so is the fact that this movie is taken from a video game a reason to think it's any more shallow than Bad Boys 2 or some other popcorn summer blockbuster.
So Roger Ebert, I know that you know movies. But Roger, you know less about video games than I know about movies. Because man, I've seen A LOT of movies. How many video games have you played? Solitaire doesn't count....

Rumor Killed so fast we hardly knew it: Resident Evil Extinction has no demos on the Blu Ray
"Some errant reporting this morning led a few sites—including Sony's own semi-official blog ThreeSpeech—to believe that the Blu-ray disc movie release of Resident Evil: Extinction would ship with playable demos of Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 5 for the PlayStation 3. Sorry, but that's just not true, as Capcom has confirmed.Actually, the rumor was carried on all most every site. I think even Kotaku.. Hehe! Anyway, I we will just have to be happy with the movie. Unfortunately, the whole thing was kind of destined for falsehood from the beginning. Devil May Cry 4 might be done enough for a demo eventually but Resident Evil 5? That is circa holiday 2008. Silly rumormongers!Users will have to make do with high definition trailers for both games and crystal clear 1080p stills of Milla Jovovich in thigh-revealing outfit."Kotaku...

Hollywood Throws in the Towel: September Box Office slump due to Halo 3?
The stories on this are rampant but the one that is really most appropriate to the mood of this is the Kotaku story.
So it's finally over, video games are more popular than movies. I guess Hollywood can start converting their studios to video game development houses and reinvest their tens of hundreds of millions into video game projects. Or will they simply invest in video game to movie projects. Like World of Warcraft the movie and Assassin's Creed the movie. Sounds good, folks. Can't wait....
I hope actors and actresses are ready to be the voice talent in the next feature game. At least they won't have to worry about being in shape.
This story just goes to prove that Fact is all ways stranger than Fiction. I don't think we could have even dreamed this up...

My Undead Heart is about to burst: Resident Evil Extinction leads weekend box office!

"Resident Evil: Extinction Leads Box OfficeSony estimates a $24 million gross for the weekend.
By Andrew Hayward, 09/24/2007Resident Evil: Extinction, the third film in the game-based film trilogy, opened atop the North American box office this weekend with $24 million across 2,828 theaters, according to studio estimates released yesterday. As reported on Friday, analysts projected a $20-21 million opening weekend for the film, which was budgeted at about $45 million.
Should the estimates hold true, Extinction will have earned just slightly more in its opening weekend than its immediate predecessor, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, which also opened at #1 with $23 million in 2004. According to Box Office Mojo, Extinction sold fewer tickets than Apocalypse, though the rising costs of film tickets made up the difference (and then some). Apocalypse lost steam after its opening weekend, drawing $51 million in total over its domestic theatrical run. We'll be keeping tabs on Extinction to see if it has more staying power than its predecessors.
Dane Cook vehicle Good Luck Chuck met projections with an estimated $14 million over the weekend, landing squarely in the second slot (ahead of last week's top flick, The Brave One, which brought in an additional $7.4 million). Actual numbers are expected to be available later this afternoon -- we'll update if the final numbers diverge significantly from the estimates."1UP....
I also dropped my money on this movie and I have to say that it is the weakest of the trilogy but certainly not a bad movie. I love these movies but I have some problems with this one.
First and foremost in Resident Evil Apocalypse Alice had these incredible mind blowing mental powers. But in this movie she hardly uses them even when Umbrella all ready knows where she is.
Second, the ending was horrible and could easily lead to another movie and this was supposed to be the last one. I'm not even sure I want to see a fourth movie; they completely accelerated a story line that could have been told over at least 6 movies but they decided to make this a trilogy and do a horrible job of telling what happened between 2 and 3. Besides that, never fleshing out Alice's character even though she is basically the main character of the trilogy.
Third, this movie was FAR TOO SHORT! An hour and a half is just not enough for a movie anymore. Most movies with descent stories are at least 2 hours now a days and they could have used this time to prevent the movie from looking like a sequel could be forthcoming.
I would just like to say that as much as I really love Mila and the whole cast of these movies, especially Valentine(Sienna Guillory). But what would have been wrong with doing the actual Resident Evil video game story? I mean it would have taken some editing and probably some modernizing but it could have been a landmark series for movies based on video games.
As much as I'd love to see another Resident Evil movie, I think it probably would be best not to have one. Because after Extinction there really isn't anything left...
