Gamespot enlightens us," SSBB officially bumped to February 10Nintendo exec confirms hotly anticipated brawler's delay to 2008; promises to double last year's holiday Wii shipments.SAN FRANCISCO--High atop San Francisco's Westin St. Francis hotel, Nintendo is hosting a media event where assembled members of the press will soon get to play such forthcoming titles as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and even Link's Crossbow Training.
Before turning the throng loose to play, Nintendo senior vice president George Harrison gave a brief address on the company's general state of affairs. Following the announcement yesterday of a Super Smash Bros. Brawl delay in Japan to January 24 of next year, Harrison confirmed speculation that the hotly anticipated multiplayer fighter will now release in North America on February 10.
Harrison went on to emphasize the full Wi-Fi multiplayer support in Brawl, as well as a feature for user-created content that the company will elaborate on in the coming months.
Before turning things over to the games, Harrison commented on Nintendo's position at retail for the holiday shopping season. He said that the company expects to have at least twice as many Wiis in the retail channel this holiday season than it did last year, which will hopefully alleviate the problems many people are still having finding the console on shelves.
GameSpot is at the media summit, so expect much more Nintendo coverage to hit the site very soon."

Super Smash Brothers Brawl Officially bumped to February of 2008!
I guess Sony doesn't have a monopoly on games getting delayed. I wonder what kind of problems with will present for Nintendo this holiday season. Because they promised that they would have hardcore titles for Christmas and that there would be BIG SALES from all these games coming out in such a short period of time. Back when the announcement was made, many journalists acknowledged that the idea that Nintendo would come out with Metroid Prime: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl within weeks of each other seemed unreal. I guess they were right.

Super Smash Bros Brawl confirmed online but there is a catch!

"The news EVERYONE has been waiting for has finally been revealed today. Smash Bros Brawl will have online multiplayer. There will be two online modes which are With Friends and With Anyone. With the With Friends mode, you can play with the people you've registered to be your friend. In this mode, you can check each other's stats, see if your friend is online and change your icons up. You can also send your friends quick messages using the D-pad as taunts during battles. You just have to create the message before the battle though. Now here is where Nintendo shows how stupid they still are with their online stance. In With Anyone mode, you can battle with anyone in the world. But you won't be able to see their name, any stats, can't send taunt messages and the most ridiculous part of all this, your battle records will not be recorded at all.
I shouldn't really complain though, the anonymity of With Anyone mode really pales in comparison to how epic this news is. So who else is as giddy as a little school girl now? "Destructoid
This is just another example of Nintendo not giving a wit about the hardcore gamers out there that love the Wii; at least if there are any left. I hope Nintendo is happy with their fly by night casual gamers. Considering once the newness and novelty of the Wii wears off and everyone has one. Nintendo will discover that the casual market is good for about one game a year. I hope they are planning on making all their money through console sales. I hope they enjoy their $10 a console.
